Program Goals
Goal 1-To increase academic achievement of participants in math, reading, science and other core subjects through engaging afterschool enrichment/remedial activities.
Goal 2-To provide non-cognitive recreational, cultural and character-development activities that excite participants and lead to reductions
in discipline referrals and increased attendance during the school day.
Goal 3-To increase family participation in student’s education through family literacy and continuing education activities.
Goal 4-To increase knowledge of good health guidelines and to increase the overall health of participants by providing programs that promote improved nutrition and physical activity.

Program Objectives
(1a) To increase by 30% the number of regular program participants reaching proficiency on the K-PREP in reading, math, and science during each year of programming; (1b) To increase the percentage of regular program participants who meet their annual academic growth goals of the Measures of Academic Progress assessment by 30% each year of programming; (1c) To increase Crossroads Elementary School’s K-PREP academic index by meeting or exceeding its growth goal by one point, (as set by KDE)
(2a) To increase school attendance to the level of 96.3% by the end of the five-year grant period; (2b) To decrease the number of discipline referrals and school suspensions by 20% during the first three years of grant programming.
(3a) To engage 50% of participating students’ families in at least two afterschool activities annually
(4a) To increase healthy food choices among participating students by 25% during each year of programming; (4b) To engage a minimum of 50% of 21st CCLC students in nutrition, health, and physical fitness enrichment programs led by the Bullitt County Extension Service
(2a) To increase school attendance to the level of 96.3% by the end of the five-year grant period; (2b) To decrease the number of discipline referrals and school suspensions by 20% during the first three years of grant programming.
