About Us
Welcome to the 21st Century Community Learning Center website! In the spring of 2013, Crossroads Elementary was awarded a grant through 21st Century to give students and their families extra opportunities to learn and have fun outside of the school day. In 2018 we received a continuation grant that will allow us to continue offering programming for the next five years! Through this grant, Crossroads is able to offer before and after school programs, parent nights, and much more. These programs give students extra time to help improve their classroom grades as well as MAP and K-PREP scores through tutoring, homework help, enrichment clubs that focus their attention on core concepts, small group reading, and plenty of fun hands-on learning activities.
Our academic and non-cognitive clubs offered throughout the school year provide fun and excitement in a pressure-free environment. Some of our clubs include: Earth Club where students get hands on experience with the Earth Sciences, get to help plant, label, and care for the plants in our outdoor garden; Art Club where students use different mediums to create artwork to display throughout the school; STEM and Lego Club where students use hands-on activities to improve and strengthen their STEM and literacy-based skills; Drama Club where students are learning about drama, music, performance, and much more! Our core-content based clubs provide opportunities for extra work on math and literacy skills. These are just a few examples of the engaging activities our certified teachers and instructional assistants lead our 21st Century students in each day our program runs!
Our before and after school programs also host visitors and volunteers from Bullitt East High School, local businesses, The Bullitt County Extension Office, as well as other grant partners. We collaborate with other programs at Crossroads to help offer nights where families can come and learn about health and nutrition, how to help students with homework, how to prevent bullying, and much more.
The best part of this program is that all of our services are FREE OF CHARGE at this time. Not all students will meet the qualifications designated in the grant, so please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Our 21st Century program is very pleased at the growth and success our students have already experienced in test scores, grades, behavior, and many other ways!
